Switzerland Is A Modern Country

amazed and excited I go to spring citizen that has erupted against all odds in the Arab world shaking off some of the fears go powder our consciences, cloud our thinking and paralyze the essential exercise of our freedom.

admire and eat these days the example of his value. I feel almost ashamed of doing nothing or almost nothing to express my disagreement with the political situation in which I live ...

I just read an article in the country and invites you to read it:

has already occurred, although the regime is reluctant to see it. Men and women, young children Tahir Square, Cairo, and have expelled Mubarak.

not have been the United States or European Union or even the dreaded yijhadismo, citizenship has been one day, to know why that day, lost her fear and felt more stronger than their oppressors.

widened the streets of Cairo and opened to each other making up a tide of stronger wills, peaceful and compassionate.

The people in the streets still have to suffer. They know but they will not stop and nothing will ever be the same in Egypt.

has burst onto the political newcomer defeated some thought: Arab citizens, with all its legitimacy. So while not willing to listen, but to resist and can still do damage, the system can not be sustained. The international media still can not tell but in Tahir Plaza, everyone knows: Mubarak has already fallen.

2 Weeks Notice Handwritten

Citizens Really you all ears?

If we have two ears and one mouth, could it be to listen twice as much speak?
Anonymous

takes a week to reflect and work experience proposals explicitly class skills or social skills .

It seems indispensable, especially in groups of adolescents - teaching them the "gestures" right to know how to communicate.

is standing up from time to time to reflect on what we do when we hear "well."

Is it too "metacognition"?

SOCIAL SKILLS EXERCISE CLASS

Listening

Follow the instructions

Divide the class into groups of three. Each group must prepare five or more slogans that will at once. For example: "you rise, you are going to shake hands with a partner who wear glasses, you go to the blackboard to draw three squares and four triangles, you give two steps to the left and jump through the air, you can count the number of chairs class and write in the second square. You turn to your site and you sit cross-legged. "

Each group gives instructions to another group that will have to comply with all the others, they observe. All team members must successfully complete instructions. Can be organized as they want to achieve.

The fishpond

The "fish tank" is a structure for group work, an arrangement in space of the participants. In the outer circle are seated with the role of observers and those who will listen. In the inner circle who will speak.

The papers are:

- to talk about what you want (your holiday, an anecdote, the weekend, a movie ...) going to B

- B listens to A striving to fully understand everything you say A, including emotions and how you say it. May only intervene to make sure you understand the message.

- timed out (maximum 5 minutes) A freeing up your chair, which will occupy B, and sits on the outer circle. B - now sitting in the inner circle of speakers - repeat what you said A. An observer C will chair B and listen.

- the end the three - A, B and C - comment and information was transmitted.

The view, hand, and the wise

is a game for groups of three. Fairly simple drawings are prepared, for example a house with four windows and a balcony, a tree, a simple landscape drawn with few lines a face ... the picture is delivered to whom does "view", so you can see "the wise." The making of "hand" has to reproduce the drawing on a sheet without seeing him. "The View" will give you instructions without giving a name to the image you see: "Draw a vertical line 10 cm in the center of the sheet. Followed by a horizontal line beginning at a point below the previous .... " "The hand" can seek help from the "wise", which can only be answered with "yes" or "no" to questions .

Understand

first comment after

In pairs, each one chooses a topic of debate from a list prepared in advance on current topics proposed by students.

The rules of debate are:

A begins with an affirmation on the chosen topic. Before replying, B has to repeat exactly the meaning of what she said A ("You think that ....) And should receive The confirmation of the accuracy of its interpretation (" That's "or" No, no is that "). Then A will have to try again. If this fails, to what explain again: "No, I meant that ....

After B and A shall give its opinion would listen and repeat what you have understood.

After ten minutes for the activity and becomes a sharing in large group to discuss the difficulties they have had and take the consequences.

THE EMPATHY

It's putting the instead. Approaching the other's world, understanding people from their own frame of reference rather than from the self.

on the skin of another

Linguistic Tools: Speaking past, everyday actions, expression feelings

1) pairs are formed

A student performs the sequence of actions that made the previous day to get from home to school or what made at home or ...

The partner mimics as a mirror trying do it accurately.

Then the roles are reversed.

2) The two couples together. Each partner has to the other what fellow who made the day before, explaining the feelings that create living (happiness, boredom, worry, ....)

Then the partner represented confirmed, accurate or modify what has been interpreted partner from their performance.

Assertiveness

Assertiveness is to defend one's rights expressing what you believe, think and feel in a direct, sincere, clear and with target communication.

His teaching is paramount to the teen audience.

know "say no?

a large group raised a number of experienced situations where a person puts pressure on another to get something.

In pairs, choose a situation and represent: a (A) has the role of saying no, with the right words, in a polite and friendly, with determination and conviction.

The other (B) is making the proposal or demand more or less insistent. The goal is to find A code words and nonverbal (tone voice, look etc..) to "resist" the demand for B without damaging the relationship.

different scenes are represented and the group provides "feedback" to each pair. Any person may intervene in the role of A to propose an alternative.

hidden persuaders

The class is divided into pairs A and B. All B go into the hallway. The teacher tells the group to its role: each will have to think of something to do or ask your partner, it can be done at the time. Can use any strategy to convince the partner. While the A think what they want to and how to behave, the teacher leaves the hall to explain to B what to do: They have to behave assertively, expressing their thoughts and feelings. They can say yes or no, the important thing is they do not feel obligated under pressure.

pairs are formed and after five minutes the students are placed in a circle and discuss the results:

How many couples have managed to persuade the B?

What strategies have worked to persuade the B?

Was it easy for B to resist the pressure? What assertive techniques have been used?

Any B has bowed to pressure not to agree?

Unable To See In The Dark

Do we work together? Poetry against routine

In our classes often ask students to work together with the assumption that they know how. So when it comes to teens, and teachers must face numerous obstacles irritating noise, clutter, distractions, loss of time, low yields and uneven distribution of tasks. The "good students" apply and the others take advantage of their work, creating negative feelings of frustration and injustice.
With adults there are other limitations: some are "calling the shots", others say nothing or take few initiatives.
Students not born knowing how to work together but they can learn in class if classroom open classroom space to do so.
From this perspective, cooperative learning is a great help. Special attention is given to the teaching of social skills needed for teamwork is really a team effort.
The first step is simple. Is to start by explicit enumeration of so-called skills or social skills, as we see in the following document. Students know what to do to make your group work and little by little, through continuous practice - are developing cooperative competition. Once you have experienced the practice of social skills Most students prefer to work in a positive atmosphere in which they feel good, respect and support than otherwise.
With the deck of cards each student can select their skills according to need or want to develop at a given time. When mastered, can keep the card in the deck. Ideally, at the end of the course each student should have the entire deck, but we know that the important thing is not to reach a nonexistent ideal progresses but in reality that is ours, knowing what we are and what we want.

How To Get Dummy Phones Working

Sometimes the conscience and the heart is numb us to the everyday grind.
Poetry is the best antidote against the infection that creates the feeling of routine.
Here are some pills - Mario Benedetti - against dormancy:

"If the heart
want to be bored
For what it is "

" I would
look at everything from afar
but you "

" It fired
and goodbye and was
welcome "

" When you travel
also travels with a
the universe "

"The sea of all
not like my sea:
he knows me"

Learning to discuss in groups

@ font

What we propose as an alternative to teacher intervention when a class / group discussions go wrong?

1) All students have 1-3 leaves that have seen little by little in class (to avoid "embarrassment functional")

2) are organized groups of 4 to 6 students.

3) In each group, cut the sheet with the statement "language functions" and assigned two or three to each group member.

4) sheet is trimmed to the topics of debate ( add to the proposed subjects drawn from the present and suggested by the students according to their interests). Placed in a pile face down.

5) It takes a card from the deck of "themes" and read aloud and announced that they will talk.

6) Students discuss freely and have to exercise the functions specified in the chips and when they do, they put her back on the table in view of all.

7) When all students have exercised their functions, change of theme and tokens.

8) Students can also decide which functions are to exercise, before determining which costs them more to do: for example, for someone shy, start a round of talks etc. .
